Spas, movement, treatments and practitioners — the quiet half of Los Cabos, chosen by the people who use them weekly.

Wellness in Los Cabos runs from resort spas with an eight-hundred-peso surcharge to a practitioner working out of a converted casita in San José who has a three-week waiting list of residents. Both can be excellent. They are not the same purchase.
We write about the practitioners, not the marble: who trained where, what they actually treat, and which places are worth the drive across the corridor.
A resort spa sells the room: the robe, the quiet, the predictability, the fact that nothing will go wrong. An independent practitioner sells the hands and the judgement, usually in a plainer room with a fan. Both are worth paying for. Confusing them is how people end up disappointed by something that was perfectly good at what it was.
Three questions settle most of it before you book:
The corridor is one road, and what looks like fifteen minutes on a map is forty in season with a cruise ship in port. A treatment across town is worth it when the person is worth it — but decide that deliberately, not on the day, and book earlier than you think you need to. The practitioners residents actually use tend to be booked weeks out, which is usually the clearest signal you will get about who is good.
